MARKETING MANAGER

Marketing Manager, Engineering, Greater London, up to £35K Basic + Company Car + great benefits. A division of a major global engineering group is looking to recruit a Marketing Manager to support the sales and marketing teams by providing competitor analysis, market research, pricing strategy, rationalisation studies, forecasting and general market analysis. With a business, marketing or similar degree, you will have several years experience within a similar analytical marketing role and be a competent and confident presenter with superb commercial acumen.

This is a highly involved and varied role that also involves product management, branding strategy and overall marketing strategy though it must be emphasised that this is a commercial marketing rather than a 'pretty' marketing role. The role will expose you to many industry areas and geographic regions and your skill will be your ability to recognise patterns and trends, modelling target clients and industry sectors and 'crunching' data to identify opportunities. You will have an almost 'Freakonomics' approach to looking at data from new perspectives to provide the market intelligence to ensure that this manufacturer retains their position of multiplying year-on-year market share.

At interview you will be expected to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, drive, ambition, solid presentations skills and well rounded business understanding. Some exposure of marketing across international and continental boundaries together with an implicit understanding of world current affairs will be a distinct advantage.
The role requires high levels of PC literacy and the usage of Excel and other modelling software. You will have great attention to detail, an expert knowledge of commercial metrics together with the nous to take calculated commercial risks.

The role has significant main board level contact in Europe and the US, so you must be a confident, well presented and professional individual with solid communication and presentation skills.
To finalise, you will be an excellent communicator, a team player and the kind of individual that strives to go the 'extra mile' to get a job well done.
