Temporary sales recruitment placements hit six-month high

The number of people that were successful in sales recruitment drives reached a six-month high last month, according to new figures.

Data from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) also showed that the number of people securing permanent jobs also improved, with this figure going up for the sixth month in a row.

Kevin Green, the REC's chief executive officer, told the Mirror that while the tide is starting to turn, the road back to full employment will be slow.

"The government's recent job guarantee for young people is a step in the right direction and the recruitment industry is also working with businesses through our Youth Employment Taskforce to get more young people into work," he added.

Late last year, the REC launched the taskforce programme, stating that the business community has a key role to play in informing discussions on the skills, attitudes and support structures to avoid a "lost generation" of workers.
