Politicians set to answer calls from unemployed

Young people who are currently looking for sales recruitment opportunities will have the chance to grill politicians over their plans for education.

Representatives from the three main parties will be present at the event, which will be held at Westminster Central Hall, to answer questions from youngsters who are not in education, employment and training (NEET).

The event has been organised by the University and College Union in a bid to highlight the plight of the one million plus NEETs in England alone.

Diane Johnson, 21, from West Yorkshire, said that she is currently looking for a job and would also like to study a course at college but is unable to afford it.

"I have tried to look for jobs but without any qualifications and skills I am not getting anywhere and it's just like banging my head against the wall," she said.

Earlier this week, Geoff Hayward from the Economic and Social Research Council said that people were better off attempting to find sales recruitment success than joining a foundation course which does not support progression into a job.
